jewellery, and other handmade novelties are cottage industry products.
The cottage industry is highly unorganized
manufacturing sector. The main factors are as follows……
1. There is no literature available on the techniques
associated with these products.
2. Lack of literacy in the artisans.
3. the hype of this fact that if “I will explain
my techniques than I will loose my work”
4. The lack of will and vision in persons associated
with this trade.
5. The tendency to teach own wards only, limits the
growth.
6. The reluctance to accept new technology.
Since I joined this wide, challenging, creative, and
beautiful industry, I my self was very keen to establish some systems
and procedures to organize this industry at least for what I produce.
Building a team of young artisans, educate them about all the ingredients
of these products, generalizing the techniques, than we started
well documented process to follow the procedures and to trace out
the faults.
We left this to our valuable customers, to decide that
at what extant we are able to organize our selves to deliver the
right quality in right time.
